My Daily Routine During COVID Quarantine

Hi, friends!

These are some wild times we live in right?

We get to stay at home and possibly have the time to do so many of the things we’d said we’d do if we just had more time, and yet, it’s also slightly mad that we have been forced to stay indoors for weeks at a time.

I’ve been trying to keep myself occupied with chores, online classes & online group meetings (outside of work hours, ie) to keep my mind away from #pandemicanxiety

I’ve been cooking every single day, and feel so much more confident about my cooking skills.

I’ve also taken a couple of art classes on Skillshare which has really helped spark my own creativity in different ways. I’ve taken a little pledge to do at least one class / course a month to keep myself creatively challenged and inspired. I feel this was lacking in the past couple of years, and learning some new skills has certainly made me more excited about creating again.

I’ve also been really happy about trying to fine tune my exercise & diet regime.

This is a well known fact about me IRL, that I’m a bit obsessed with fitness workouts – particularly online workouts. I’ve been doing them for 15 years (way before online fitness streaming was even a thing), and I’ve had the chance to do so many different types of classes as a result! For past few months I’ve been obsessed with Dancebody – I LOVE their music and of course I love dance! It’s the perfect workout for people who love to dance to great music, and want a nice sweaty challenging (but not dread-inducing levels of challenging) workout.

I’ve also managed to streamline and fine tune my daily schedule a bit. I’ve always had a pretty strict work hours schedule set out (except the first couple of years in business when Monday – Sunday 9 am – 10 pm were my standard office hours :P), but now I’ve also set out the kind of work I will do within my 8am – 5 pm office hours.

My Work From Home COVID Quarantine Schedule looks a bit like this:

7am ish – Wake up & get dressed

7:45 am – Breakfast + News at my desk (I check Google News twice a day to get the essentials, and thats it. I don’t watch news on TV and don’t log into Facebook Newsfeed or Twitter or anywhere people get news!)

8 am – 10:30 / 11am – Art, Painting, Designing, Creative Time

11 am – 12:30 pm – Cook

12:30 – 1:30 pm – Lunch Break

1:30 – 2:30 pm – Extended Lunch Break if I’m being honest here ;)

2:30 – 4:30 / 5 pm – Email + Admin / Tech Updates / Social Media / Newsletters etc.

This schedule has helped me be productive during the time I’m actually supposed to be working, and be relaxed and do other things when I’m not. I think I’m going to stick to it beyond the COVID Quarantine days – whenever they come, and my friends, as the Queen says, they will come!

Hope you are doing well, and are safe & healthy!

p.s.: If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to stay occupied in active activities during this time as much as possible (haha, you ask, what are active activities? They are activities that engage your brain actively like reading, writing, creating, cooking, exercising; as opposed to passive activities like watching news/ scrolling on Instagram). It REALLY helps. Promise.

p.s. 2: Feel free to save these images on your phone and use them as lockscreens/ wallpapers. They work as wonderful reminders for me :)

EDIT p.s. 3: I just realised my last post was also titled pretty much the same thing, hah! I really need to be more on top of what’s happening on my blog :) Quarantine Brain, Exhibit 1, right here, my friends. Good day!
