Hi friends! I’m a bit late on this instalment of monthly round up. The end of October and the beginning of November has been very chaotic for me, personally.
We are in the middle of some essential repairs & renovation works – something that was due to happen back in March, but well, it got pushed indefinitely due to the global pandemic. Even after things opened up, we didn’t really pursue the plan because of uncertainty, and not wanting to increase exposure. But then, one day, plaster started falling off from our kitchen ceiling while I was in there cooking – not good, and quite scary! Nobody was hurt, but it was exactly the kick we needed to get things rolling.
Fast forward a couple of months and now we are done with the exterior repairs, and have now started on interior repair works. Since our kitchen is being redone, we have had to move out temporarily. We’re staying in a small one room apartment in the meanwhile. Friends, it has not been easy. The packing, shifting, then settling into this new place where something seems to be breaking each day and requires 10 phone calls to get fixed has been TOUGH. We have been here since the 2nd, but today has been the first day when I’ve managed to get a full work day (10 pomodoros) done.
Because of this, the things I had scheduled to work on in the last two weeks of October have gone out of the window! But still, there are things to report from last month!
I had a week off in the middle of October – a much needed “break”, but it really did not feel like a break at all, as we were cooped up indoors, and had construction work going on all around. Not fun! But I schedule these breaks and take them from time to time otherwise my creativity suffers.
Some lovely new products hit the shop last month – 3 in total. First up is Automne – a rich and vibrant fall watercolor floral clip art set. I am so totally in love with this set. These florals look great on a dark or light background, and have so much lovely depth to them. I love them! I think they are perfect for fall watercolor wedding invitations and thanksgiving invitations. Next up is Christmas Floral – a sweet set of watercolor christmas florals featuring evergreens and poinsettia. And the last set is a small set of gold glittery Christmas botanicals – Gold Botanics.
A few months back, I had licensed some of my graphics to a photobook company – Momento. Some of the designs have gone live on their platform as “embellishment packs” that Momento’s users can add to their photo products on the platform. It looks great, and it was a pleasure working with the company. You can check out Momento here. If you’re a company that looking to license art for use on your platform, please reach out to me, as the licenses on my website don’t cover such use!
November is going to be exciting with Black Friday Sale coming up. If you want to be alerted when my annual 40% off sale goes live, be sure to sign up for my mailing list here. If you’re a shopowner, I hope your Christmas designs are coming along nicely! Get them out soon as shoppers are buying everything much earlier this year.
That’s it for this update! Thank you for reading, and I hope you have a fabulous day.
