A gorgeous greenery watercolor & rose gold wedding invitation suite

Follow this video for step by step instructions:

Open a new file on Photoshop

Choose a canvas size that you need. I have chosen a classic 5×7 inch size which works for most card designs. Make sure you have 300 PPI selected if you are going to print the design.

Get a free trial of Photoshop from here.

Insert your chosen watercolor background design

Simply drag and drop your background / clipart file into the canvas.

I have used a lovely watercolor greenery background from the Serene Greenery Kit in my shop. The backgrounds & bordersย come in standard sizes like 5×7 inches & A4 size to suit various needs.

Resize if you need to.

Hit enter to place the design.

Select the Text tool and add your own text on a new layer

Create a new layer from the Layers Panel.

If you don’t already see the Layers panel open, go to Windows -> Layers to make it appear.

Add the text that you need.

You can change the font, size, character spacing and other properties from the Character Panel. If you don’t already see it open, again, go to Windows -> Characters to have it open up for you.

Drag and drop your chosen rose gold foil (or any foil or texture)

Select your chosen foil texture (or any texture really), and drag and drop it into your canvas.

It will automatically appear on a new layer. Hit enter to place it.

Create Clipping Mask on the Foil Layer

With the foil/ texture layer selected, go to Layer -> Create Clipping Mask.

Et voila!

You have your rose gold effect or watercolor effect on your chosen text!

Make sure the foil / texture layer is right above the layer on which you want it to be applied.

Finish your lovely design and save

After this, add your remaining text (on separate layers), and save your design.

And that’s it!!

Conclusion

Isn’t it super quick and easy to add a touch of rose gold glam or watercolor magic to your designs? The applications of this feature are practically endless. Go on, experiment, play around and make all your design dreams come true!
