DIY Watercolor Christmas Photo Card Tutorial, Simple & Easy Holiday Card for Beginners
Today we’re going to learn how to make a DIY Watercolor Christmas Card with a Photo to share with your friends & family.
This is a quick & easy tutorial for beginners, and you do not need any specialised software. We will be using Pages – which is a free software which comes built in with Mac computers. Windows users can use Microsoft Word.
Friends, this is the first tutorial that I have ever recorded with my voice (obviously without any fancy equipment or software or anything!). I hope you enjoy it & find it useful.
Now, lets get on to it…
What you need for this project
- Pages (Mac) or Microsoft Word (Windows) (free & comes installed on your computer)
- A photo
- Watercolor Christmas Border / Frame as a transparent .png file (I’ve used one from here)
- Fonts to add custom text if you wish (I have used Times New Roman & this free font)

The Christmas card which we will design is 5×7 inches in size – the perfect size for printing out using any standard print shop.

With these resources & some help from the tutorial, now you can easily design a modern & chic Christmas card for your family – and all in under 10 minutes! Once you are done with the design, you can send it off for print.
Also, you do not need any fancy or expensive software to be creative. Good old Pages / Word does the trick.
You can even use some of the tips & tricks in this tutorial to create other designs!
