DIY Watercolor Christmas Photo Card Tutorial, Simple & Easy Holiday Card for Beginners

Today we’re going to learn how to make a DIY Watercolor Christmas Card with a Photo to share with your friends & family.

This is a quick & easy tutorial for beginners, and you do not need any specialised software. We will be using Pages – which is a free software which comes built in with Mac computers. Windows users can use Microsoft Word.

Friends, this is the first tutorial that I have ever recorded with my voice (obviously without any fancy equipment or software or anything!). I hope you enjoy it & find it useful.

Now, lets get on to it…

What you need for this project

  1. Pages (Mac) or Microsoft Word (Windows) (free & comes installed on your computer)
  2. A photo
  3. Watercolor Christmas Border / Frame as a transparent .png file (I’ve used one from here)
  4. Fonts to add custom text if you wish (I have used Times New Roman & this free font)

Step by Step Tutorial on how to make a DIY Watercolor Christmas Photo Card in under 10 minutes

DIY Holiday Card Made by Stephanie:

Here’s an example of how our customer, Stephanie, a working mom with very little time on her hands, created this gorgeous holiday card using the graphics from this pack. Stephanie says loves making paper products like her kids’ birthday invitations & holiday cards. Thank you, Stephanie, for sharing your talent with us!

I love how Stephanie has added depth & visual interest to the design by using a textured background. She has also used beautiful & on trend script fonts to add a touch of whimsy to the text. She’s mixed these modern elements with tradition by sticking to a classic red & green color palette when it comes to the text.

I hope this design inspires some of you to tackle your own holiday card soon :)
