I love PicMonkey as a free online tool to use when one does not have access to (or time to
master the necessary skills to use) Adobe Photoshop.
PicMonkey offers a lot of functionality and is great for quickly and easily creating graphics for personal projects.
A lot of the tutorials here on Essem Creatives which are geared at DIY projects for those without access to Photoshop are made on PicMonkey.
One of the questions I often get asked is how resize canvas or how to change the default size of the canvas / background.
It’s really simple to resize canvas or background on PicMonkey.
Here’s how.
How to Resize Canvas or Background on PicMonkey
Click on the “Resize” label on the left (it’s at the bottom and is therefore easy to miss).
Input your desired size. Sizes are in pixels.
Tip:Â If you are making something for print, take the dimensions you need and multiply each side by 300 to get the pixel requirement. Eg. You need something as large as 12 x 12 inches. So the pixel equivalent is (12×300) x (12×300) pixels = 3600 x 3600 pixels.
